As I sit at work listening to the "Blue Angels" practice for this weekends Quad City Air Show, I am reflecting over the last month or so.
This last month was so eventful, to say the least..
My mom came up from Kentucky to visit. She came with her little puppy, Duke, or I guess I should say, her pal. He is the cutest little dog. He, as well as my mom, made themselves at home on April 30th. My daddy-Jeff had to work, and is still content breathing Kentucky air, so a visit "home" was not in his cards....this time. But hopefully we will get him back up here.
My little sis turned 30!! CRAZY!! We had a ball! We had a surprise dinner/party for her at TGIFridays and then took it to Creekside to demonstrate our wonderful Karaoke skills. We had so much fun!
My brother and his wife celebrated their 8 year anniversary on the 12th, which was also my 34 birthday. This was the hardest birthday so far...34!!! I guess we all have an "ideal" idea of where we will be in life, and when. I am not anywhere near where I thought I would be, but am blessed, to say the least!

My mom stayed up here for almost a month, but was sick all but 7 days of her stay. Poor thing! She is a beautiful, stubborn lady. She wouldn't go to the ER until she was almost too weak to walk. Pneumonia will do that to you. But she got better. Unfortunately, she had to go back home to Kentucky...our house felt so large and empty when she and Duke left. But a week later we left for a family vacation in Colorado!!
My brother and his family, my in laws, and Brad and I drove out to Estes Park to stay in a lovely vacation home right on the Big Thompson River. It was beautiful! We went hiking, shopping, enjoyed family dinners, and a long detour from the West side of Rocky Mountain National Park back to Estes...TOOOOOO LONG OF A DETOUR... We saw moose, coyote, elk, baby elk, tourists....well, you get the picture. My sister in law, niece, and in laws all celebrated their birthday's while we were out there. It was fun, too short, and ball! Even though I HATE leaving Colorado, it will be so sweet when I return.
This is just the beginning of Summer!!! Can't wait to see what the rest has to hold!
